According to police spokesperson Const Virginia Mavuso, the South African Civil Aviation Authority is investigating the cause of the accident. It is believed that the helicopter belongs to chief executive officer of Honey Lotus, Richard Burns.

“Although the helicopter was a wreck, nobody sustained serious injuries and one patient was transported to Netcare Union Hospital in Alberton,” Const Mavuso said.
