SAPS Duduza take no mercy on criminals

This comes after Police arrested two suspects on February 1 for possession and dealing in drugs and seized around 83 mandrax tablets. Both suspects are detained and the investigation is ongoing.
Another 39 year old man was arrested on February, after he was found in possession of a large consignment of dagga at his house.

According to police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka, the suspect was arrested by members of the crime prevention unit in Duduza after a thorough stake-out which was conducted over several days. “The suspect was arrested inside the house where he sold dagga from. Around 72 packs of dagga packed in pokes, were recovered,” Sgt Manaka said and added that it was about time police go after the big fish in the drug trade.

“Further arrests will follow, but the police need to make a statement to ensure drug distributors are arrested and that they will ultimately face the full power of the law,” Sgt Manaka said. He also encouraged the community to provide the police with information relating to drug dealers in their area.

Ekurhuleni East Cluster (EEC) detective trio and Vispol trio task teams arrested a 26 years old Mozambican male suspect for business robbery and assault at Molefe Street, John Dube Village on February 6.
EEC detectives trio task team’s constables Mpempeni and Motabeni were first to receive information on the whereabouts of the suspect, and they quickly responded. With assistance from EEC Vispol trio task team (led by Capt Mervyn Kasavan), the suspect was apprehended and immediately arrested. The knife that was used during the stabbing was also seized.
According to Sgt Manaka, an Ethiopian national businessman was attacked soon after his arrival at his business on February 2. The victim sustained several stabbing wounds and was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. He was later transported by ambulance to Pholosong Hospital for medical treatment.

The suspect is expected to appear in Nigel Magistrate’s Court soon.
