SAPS Ekurhuleni East Cluster Heritage Day celebrations

Dressed in colourful native attire, police officers from various stations across the cluster attended the heritage celebrations, which was a first of its kind for the cluster.

The team of judges consisted of Police General Girly Mbele, Brig Gwebushe (Springs), Col Reddy (Cluster Vispol co-ordinator) and Cluster CPF chairperson Lucas Mbokazi.

Among the participating units who strutted their attire and fine cuisine were SAPS Nigel (Tswana), SAPS Heidelberg (Afrikaner), SAPS Duduza (Sepedi), SAPS Tsakane (Swazi), SAPS Dunnottar (Zulu), SAPS Kwa-Thema (Xhosa), SAPS Devon (Zulu), SAPS Ratanda (Sesotho), SAPS Springs, Railway Police and the Local Criminal Record Centre (Springs).

After tasting the food and judging team spirit, the judges unanimously agreed that SAPS Ratanda surpassed all expectations. They were declared overall winners of the SAPS Ekurhuleni East Heritage competition, with SAPS Kwa-Thema in second and SAPS Heidelberg third place.
